How the calculator works
It uses two formulas:
- Gross payout = stake × decimal odds
- Gross profit = gross payout − stake
The payout is what the bookmaker returns if the bet wins, including your stake. The profit is what you actually gain. Results are rounded to the nearest cent at the end.
Examples
| Bet | Stake | Odds | Gross payout | Gross profit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dynamos to win | $2.00 | 2.50 | $5.00 | $3.00 |
| GG in Highlanders vs FC Platinum | $3.00 | 2.05 | $6.15 | $3.15 |
| Arsenal to win | $5.00 | 1.80 | $9.00 | $4.00 |
| Correct score 1–0 | $0.50 | 7.00 | $3.50 | $3.00 |
What this calculator does not include
- Tax or fees. Some bookmakers may deduct tax from winnings or charge fees on some withdrawals. This calculator shows gross amounts only. To see what a deduction at a particular rate would look like, use the tax estimate calculator.
- Bonuses. Bonus boosts and free-bet rules change the result; check the bet slip.
- Accumulators. For several selections on one slip, use the accumulator calculator.
Understanding the result
A high payout does not mean a good bet. Odds of 7.00 imply only about a 14% chance. Use the implied probability calculator to see the chance behind any price, and read how to read betting odds.
